We've been told that the RV Park at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone National Park can accomodate 40' coaches. Has anyone taken a 38'-40' -er into that RV park? If so, can you please provide feedback about the facilities there. Also, any gotchas on the drive from the West entrance to Fishing Bridge? How about US 20 from Idaho Falls to the West entrance. As always, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with newcomers.

Tony:
We are presently in West Yellowstone at the Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park and have been here for a week.
We have spent many hours in Yellowstone National Park and basically from the camp sites we have seen, 38-40 foot coaches will be a squeeze. Most will be semi dry camping. I don't have any specifics on Fishing Bridge, but would recommend staying at Grizzly until you can check it out personally. It is an excellent park!
As far as gotchas, I don't think there are any on that route.
When you are talking big rigs, the national parks, like many commercial rv parks, are essentially behind the curve.

Tony,I've stayed at fishing bridge twice, once in 36' & 40' last time came in from the east and south, and experienced no problems parking or navigating the roads. Just make sure when you make the reservation, let them know the length of the coach.

Tom:
Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park is great for big rigs. The roads are paved and spaces about 70 feet.
My coach is 40 feet, both it and the toad fit.

I would second the advice to stay at Grizzly...it's an excellent, open, large-space, RV park within walking distance of the town. It's near the entrance of Yellowstone. It might also make a difference when you're planning to visit the park...Grizzly has a longer season.
Have a great time!

To the electrical wizards. I've got a TV antenna that won't go up. When I push the raise button the red light comes on then goes out. All fuse are ok in the electrical compartment. Bad motor in the antenna unit??? Any suggestions on what to check out?

Steve,
Have you checked the gears on the antenna on top of the roof? We had our gears strip, but decided to get a satellite instead of replacing the antenna.

A tree jumped on my Braund antenna two years ago. Continuing saga since. Today received new boom and legs from manufacturer. My Red light was on and the unit would not raise or lower (even if not tied down :)).
Took the legs off the axle, and the motor raised, lowered, turned and returned just fine. So I must have had things tweaked wrong.
Anyway, went to install the new boom and found that the axle holes in the new legs were flattened on one side but my axle was not. A good idea but not timely for me. So, now need to order a new axle to match my new legs. Already replaced the plastic stripped gears with a steel unit.
More than you wanted to know, but you might try to loosen the boom legs from the motor axle on the roof and see if things work right to that point. If not, you probably have a gear problem.
Barker Manufacturing 269-965-2371 for replacement parts for Braund Antenna.
Lots of work for something we never use.
