Another benefit to the Fan Shroud is it will act as a rock deflector on a gravel road. Several folks on this Forum have experienced radiator damage from rocks entering the fan housing hole. I've made my own Grated Aluminum One, but have not had time to install it. But will do so before doing any extensive gravel road driving, i.e. Alaska in Summer of 2005........
