Hi
I just had both rear leveling valves go bad at the same time.
($175.00 each + installation) I have heard that Neway had a batch of defective valves and I wonder if anyone else has had problems with them. Has anyone attempted to get Neway to help with the cost of new valves? Mine are only 2 years old. The number is 90554241. Neway and Haldex both seem to use the same number.
Any advise or information appreciated.

Just received replacements from CC for $117.82 each. Mine were 6 years old.

Were the valves from CC made of metal or a plastic or carbon fiber type material? I have seen both. Also were you able to put them on yourself? How long did installation take?

I was told these are the newer improved height control valves that CC is having less problems with. Supposedly they have less p[lastic parts. They are in a Haldex box & are labeled #90554241-valve ir hcv.
The CC label is #24691-valve, height control (Neway ir).
The outer body is 95% brass-only where the linkage attaches is plastic. These are heavier than what is on my coach.
When I first got my coach I had the left height control valve off.
I forsee that changing out both valves will be about a 45-60 minute job a side plus 30 minutes to set the ride height.

I store my coach in a building on concrete parked on 2x12's. This raises the coach high enough that with all the air expelled I can still crawl under to the air valves. This time I put jack stands under the hitch area which held the back of the coach up & made it easier to work on. After expelling all the air from the rear air bags the air lines can be removed, remove the old valves & install the new valves. Put the air lines on. Restart coach, check for air leaks & remove jack stands. Readjust ride heighth & you're ready to go! The entire fix took a total of about 2 hours.

Thanks for the input on the changing of the valves. Did you use any type of sealant tape or thread compound? Also, what was the procedure you used to perform the adjustments? I have the values sent to me by Country Coach. I assume the adjustments are made while running the engine so that the air bags respond the the adjustment changes.

The old valves did not use any tape or sealant so I didn't & had no leaks. I adjust the ride height with the engine running & air system full. You always have to make the ride height adjustments up. Loosen the small hose clamp on rubber slider sleeve on vertical linkage rod.
Drop the coach below the wanted measurement & adjust back up. Go side to side until both sides are right. It took me adjusting both sides twice to get it perfect(when you raise one side it will also raise the other slightly). Retighten the small hose clamps. I then rechecked the front, but it was perfect. If it needs adjustment the procedure is the same, but only one adjustment will be needed as there is only one valve. If the front had needed adjustment I would have rechecked rear, although I would not have expected a change.

Hi Andy, You didn't list your coach model, year or serial number so what I write may be invalid in your case.
CC did receive and install a number of ride height valves that due to supplier design did not hold up. CC has replaced many of these valves free of charge.
I had two replaced at the factory at no cost, and purchased a spare for about $89 which I carry as insurance against delays should a valve fail when miles away from factory help.
CC obviously has the range of coaches that were involved with the "bad" design ride height valves.
If you check with them you may be able to determine if they will help with your out of pocket expenses. If your installer charged over the regular price for the replacemnt valves I doubt CC will pick up that part of the cost.
I hope you kept the bad parts. At the very least you may be able to exchange them for new ones and keep as spares.
Everything I write is contingent upon you having had the original bad ride height valves. If not, or if you drive a Winniebago, ignore this note.
