Because of road noise when the tires were rotated by a Honda Dealer, they put the tires back in their original position (happened a year ago).
Now my front tires are worn more than by rear tires, I presume because it was towed 20000 miles and driven 25000 mile.
I tried to located two replacement (which match the rear tires).
Finally called a Honda dealer in the area I am traveling. They had three tires which matched the original in stock, but the service tech advised the parts department that all four should be replaced at the same time because of the All Wheel Drive on this Honda.
Now thinking I should just go to Sam's club and get 4 tires, even though the rear tires have quite good tread, especially when compared to the front.

We have a 2000 CRV with BF Goodrich Touring TA's. We replaced them after they had 50,000 driving miles and 15,000 towing miles. They were always rotated but got noisy after about 40,000. THe new tires have 10,000 driving and 5,000 towing on them and are not noisy.

Herb:
Costco has a tire sale 1ce or 2ce each year. We replaced our orig. equip. tires last year on our '02 CRV with 4 Michelins. The road noise persists. It was suggested we try carrying less air pres.
Consumer Reports comments that road noise is a common complaint in CRV, Pilot AND MDX. Otherwise, for us, the CRV been a great TOAD.

Consumer Reports complained about the CR-V's stock tires not having much sideways traction. But, if typical, not all CR-Vs will have the same tires from the factory ... and I don't know which ones they were complaining about.

I truly cannot stand my wifes 2003 Honda CRV because the road noise drives me crazy! I hate how loud it is. I have flown quieter planes!

Honda's road noise goes beyond the tires as a cause, egs., insulation, undercoat, etc., and needs to be addressed by Honda.
I'm presuming there are diff. tire mfgs. on these models transmitting the noise. April, '04 Cons. Rep. comments on: CRV: "road noise is abit pronounced".
PILOT: "although quiet overall, road noise was pronounced".
MDX: "road noise is pronounced".
ODYSSEY: "Road noise is abit pronounced".
S2000: "The ride is hard and noisy, which can get tiresome in everyday driving."
