It's become a game for us to seek out the most inexpensive fuel while traveling some 15 states on this year's trip. Since we travel from Casino to Casino seeking out poker rooms we have noticed consistently that the Indian Casino fuel prices are below the surrounding prices; anywhere from 5¢ to 35¢ per gallon. We have been told twice that not all the Reservations pay any state fuel taxes is the reason. For instance in Winnavegas Casino at the Winnebago Reservation north of Council Bluffs, IA, at exit 127 of I 29 we paid $1.85 whild the surrounding area was going at $2.05 to $2.17. We of course use Flying J when available and can find no Casino.
One of our sources for location of Indian Casinos (primarily the regional newspapers picked up at each poker room showing all in their region) is the book CASINO CAMPING which we now check weekly for our area. Those interested could go to www. TravelbooksUSA.com and see if you can get one from Roundabout Publications.
Good traveling to you,
Ron and Molly, '01 Intrigue # 11262, San Diego
