The manual for our '98 Intrigue says that many components (mainly suspension) need to be re-torque at a certain mileage point. Has anyone had this done?

I have a 99 Intrigue, and at Kevin K.'s suggestion as a possible remedy for a popping noise that turned out to be the right front brake, I had the suspension retorqued and could not tell any difference. I had it done at a Freightliner shop and they remarked every place they torqued, but it did not solve my problem.

Glen: I've experienced the "popping" sound in the front end of my 99 Intrigue. You mentioned that it was brakes? Can you elaborate?
I had the bolts re-torqued, both front and rear suspension, but it didn't stop the popping sound on hard braking. It also didn't stop the "scrunch" sound that I sometimes get going through low areas such as gutters leading into parking lots, etc.
I crawled around under the machine and can see some bare metal spots between the rear air bag mounting bars that look like a single leaf spring, and their housing. I concluded that the noise was from the normal loosening of the suspension in 50,000 miles and it didn't seem to be a problem.
It would be nice to identify the pop in the front end on hard braking. Something moving in the brake mechanism? Let me know.

Simply "re-torquing" probably won't solve a problem most of the time. But, soon after we bought our '98 last year, I heard a banging noise from the LF suspension area and the truck shop I use checked and tightened a loose suspension component. While they were there, they torqued everything they could and could find nothing else "loose."
They have strict instructions from me to do whatever's necessary while the motorhome is in the shop ... even going overboard, if necessary ... 'cause I do NOT like to break down. It reminds me of when I was a child and my dad's cars kept breaking down. Personally, I'm very happy they "don't make 'em like they used to!"

I was told there was some rust buildup in the right brake and they took everything apart, cleaned and relubricated all components. That was more than a year ago and the problem has not returned. I must tell you that multiple mechanics had looked for the problem and could find anything, but it was only when I found the right person.

You would think that retightening the suspension would be a free service from CC after the first 5-10K miles.
The liability for CC could be massive.

I had a very similar experience with the hard braking. If the coach sat for a week or two the first time I'd hit the brakes hard I'd hear a pop an it also seem to pull to one side.
I ended up under the front end and greased all the fittings. I found greases fittings on the arm between the brake drum and the air brake. I guessing, but it could have taken a certain amount of air pressure applied to the air brake to break it free and allow the arm to turn and expand the brake. This was only about a month ago and haven't had the problem since. Fingers crossed.
