Has anyone had experience with the National Warranty of Florida, Inc. that Lazydays sells. We are considering this extended warranty, but are somewhat uneasy with the privately backed plans.
I've heard some people have had really bad experiences with some of these companies.
Any information would be appreciated. We have to decide on the warranty later this week.

Yes, I have that warranty on a 2000 Allure I purchased from Lazy Days. While I am told it is better than most, I have found that there are many loopholes in the contract. Get a copy and read it closely before you sign. I just went through some warranty work at Lazy Days under the plan and it was a night mare. What should have taken 3-4 days for repairs, took 2 weeks and allot of arguing. Most service writers do not think about how a problem is written up before submitting it to the warranty company. Thus, resulting in a denial initially.
Be prepared and well versed in the language on the warranty contract. Read between the lines and be prepared for delays when obtaining service.

Hi Jim
I'll be facing this extended warranty dilemma in just a few weeks.
Any suggestions what particular things I should look out for? Standard loopholes I'll probably fall into?
Any pre-purchase advice would sure be appreciated.

I still say that the policy sold by Dave Gardner is the best extended warranty one can buy. We had it on our last coach(s) and never had a problem that wasnt covered. Dave Gardner can be reached at 877 673 1880.

The best advice is get a copy of the contract/policy and read it carefully. Read every word for its fullest definition. The best coverage has a very long list of items not included in the coverage. One of those "everything is covered but what is listed specifically". That list is very loosely worded and leaves allot for open interpretation. A service writer can have allot of impact on what getrs covered or not covered by the way the problem is written up on the service order that is submitted for coverage.
For example:
I had a problem with my slide is binding when extended. One end would fully extend and the other end would be about 4" from full extension. The uneven extension of the slide caused the seal around the slide to roll out of place. I had attempted to put the seal back in place, but it would not stay because the metal finger holding the seal were bent and in some places broken. Yes, the metal fingers were rusty.
The root cause of the slide problem was a damaged teflon rub block at the bottom of the slide. However, the service writer wrote down on the service order that the seal was rusty as being the problem.
The warranty contract excludes rust and corrosion damage. So, I had to point out the root cause and effect of the failed component and argue that the seal failure was a secondary failure. The rusty retention fingers had nothing to do with the failure of the seal.
Besides, I had a previous work order from 2 years ago I presented where the seals were replace new at the factory. It took two weeks to argue my position and the $1200-1400 cost for seal replacement was finally accepted by the warranty company.
The lesson learned here is to be prepared and ask to see the service writer's documentation of the problem before it is submitted.

Jim, I am pretty sure they are nationwide. The policy we purchased is Owners Choice and it covers normal wear and tear and seals and gaskets. If one of our LCD TVs has to be replaced, the price (almost) of the policy is covered. Just call Dave and ask him, it is toll free. Hope this helps, Dale

Hi Dale
Is the company name "Nationwide" or is that simply their distribution?

Hi Tom, sorry for the confusion, they write policies in all states (nationwide) but they have nothing to do with Nationwide Insurance Co. Dale

If I remember correctly, the decision on purchasing the extended warrantee may (on some policies) be postponed until the end of the factory warrantee.
At least ask what the deadline is.

Just keep in mind that a so-called "extended warranty" is NOT an extension of your warranty. It's a service or maintenance contract. And the odds are that you'll be a loser in the long run, or the companies wouldn't sell 'em.

You can purchase an extended warranty any time during the first 12 months after purchase of a new coach. But the cost of the policy could increase for one or two reasons: the more miles you have on the odometer the more costly thf policy. Also the policy cost may increase just due to economic reasons. I always buy my policy from Dave Gardner shortly after purchase. Dale 05 Affinity 6370

I didn't mean to imply that these contracts are extension of the manufactures warrantee... only that a buyer might not necessarily need to make a decision at the sometimes stressful time of buying a coach.
I seem to recall that the repair contract can be purchased at some later date.... even if the salesperson indicates that it MUST be purchased NOW.
