We currently are experienceing an amount of water under the hot water heater and in the compartment just in front of the black/gray water compartment. Has anyone experienced this problem? I felt all of the waterlines in and around the waterheater and they are dry. Cannot see any place where the water is coming from. All ideas greatly appreciated.

Stan, have you checked the water filter and its connections? Is the water at the forward bulkhead of the wet compartment? Did this just start? Could you have had the heavy rains there in Aguana (sp) like we did here on the coast? We also had some heavy winds along with the rain so maybe rain got blown in.

Stan,

I may have a similar situation. Sometime ago, I noticed a small amount of water that appeared to be coming out from under the Hurricane furnace. Since it was clear and the reservoir did not need to be topped off or refilled I have to assume that it did not occur as a result of an overflow of the reservoir. I have not been able to locate the origin of the leak. At its worst I have a film of water in the heating bay at its best there is a very slow drip that is noticeable under the coach where it exits by the exhaust pipe of the heater. I've got an appointment at LazyDays in a few weeks and I'm hoping that they will be able to diagnose the problem if I haven't by then. Several days ago I had the city water turned off so that I could install a new winterized water pipe. I had the city water turned off for the weekend and for two days we were working off the fresh water tank. The water leak went away while I was not connected to city water. I reconnected the city water and I watched for the leak to start again. Unfortunately I was not to be disappointed. It took about a half an hour but the drip did reappear under the exhaust pipe. Now I think that I might have a high water pressure problem. I've never had a water pressure regulator one on because I was afraid that I would get a reduced volume of water for my showers. How I love a good strong shower. I've rearranged my priorities about a strong shower and resigned myself to follow the sage advice others have posted about the importance of using a water pressure regulator. When I get it installed this week end I'll post what the outcome is. If it does not solve the leak problem, I'll let you know what I find out when LazyDays attempts to fix it. I hope you have better luck than I?ve had in finding the source of the leak.

For water under the water heater, have you checked the pressure relief valve? You might find that the water level in the water heater is too high (happens over time) and you need to "bleed off" the top few inches to replace the airgap in it...ours did that recently and all is well now. Just a thought...

WHAT KIND OF HOT WATER DO YOU HAVE? If it is a propane type and depending on how much it has been used I have found out that after 7 to 8 years the aluminum tank will corrode and they can and will get very small pin holes in the tank. Perhaps you can check for that.
GBettig 2002 Intrigue 11451

You will have to take off the insulation around it.

Stan, another place water could be coming from is the sink drain. The flex pipe that goes under the slide terminates and goes through the floor at the rear of the galley slide. You might be able to see the pipe of you look under the slide in the area of the stove.

I have checked the water filter--no leak there. The water seems to be coming from the water heater, then leaking down into the compartment below it. Luckily, our extended warranty covers the whole water heater. On a side note, our warranty covered our ride height repair fully. I think it depends on who is doing the repair. Make sure they call, then fax information to the insurance provider--less chance of nonpayment. Now back to the water leak. I checked both sides of the coach and found no leaks on the passenger side. This leak is on the driver's side. There is no water under the slide, just under the pantry in the water heater area.
Thanks for all the replies. Any further ideas will be greatly appreciated!

One more thing you could do is to turn off all city water and run on the coaches water pump pressurize and let the pump shut off , be sure all water taps are off, them listen, and if you hear the pump come on and off you have a leak some where. Again you will have to take insulation from the hot water heater to get to the tank. It might just have a pin hole in it but that's all it takes.

We had a water leak problem on our coach that turned out to be a split in the rubber seal at the base of the slideout. It allowed water to seep in during rain storms and ended up under the kitchen tile. Very small hole, but over time it did its work. Might check yours for that condition

Any way to check the plumbing behind the shower? I don't know how to access it, you might have to pull some drawers out below the pantry.

Thanks again!! I have removed the bottom two drawers and almost climbed into the waterheater compartment--at least as far as I could get. I noticed that the vent pipe for the kitchen sink drops straight down, then makes a 90 degree to turn and go directly over the hot water heater. I also remember that I just had flow-through vent tops placed on the rig. So maybe that's the source. When the roof dries from last nights moisture, I'll go up and see if I can find a possible area that could be the problem.
P. S. Found too many holes to count in the flow-trough vent tops. Silaconed all. Next rain should answer the question.

Ihave drained the fresh water tank and dryed the compartment. Next AM there was water in the compartment, seems to be along the seam. Has any one had a similar problem? Can not tell where the water is coming from. Turned of the city water to dry every out, connections seem dry. Can these tanks be repaired? Who does that kind of work in the Yuma, AZ area?

We just had a water leak around our utility bay and found it to be from the inlet on the water filter. You have to crawl in the bay to get to the filter. Ours is a 2000 Allure. You might check that. It would only leak when we were hooked to city water.
After correcting the problem with teflon tape, it started leaking from the top of the filter. I probably need a new rubber washer around the top, but I'm going to replace the filter as soon as I get to Camping World so will try to get a new washer at that time.

Jerry,

Before replacing try a thin coating of petroleum jelly...........The leaking may stop.

Hope this helps

I have a leak I'm hoping someone else has had and can offer some suggestions. I am getting a leak underneath the refrigerator that drips through the wood to the compartment under the refrig, which is the furnace. I have checked the refrigerator and there is no sign of water in either the refrig or freezer of my Dometique. I checked outside and I see no water in the outside access to the regrig. As it looks like it coming through the wood, is there a line under neath the refrig and on top of the furnace?? Baffling but it is a pretty steady drip.. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for your help.

Gordon:

I have had a similar leak. I am uncertain what you mean by "...drips through the wood...." I my case it was leaking into the Hydrohot compartment and the adjacent compartment. The leak was from the water supply located in the external compartment where it attaches to the small ice maker heating element. It was difficult to find at first since it leaked onto that small area and down the propane pipe to the bays below.
If you cannot find it try shutting off the ice maker water supply completely and see if there is still a leak.
The other possibility is the installed refer drain line which you will just have to trace to find the leak. It is about a 1/4 inch in diameter hose and goes from the refer and exits beneath the bay under the refer. It is an external drain and can be seen by looking under the coach in the area below the refer.

Gordon,

I have had a similar problem and believe mine was originating from the ice-maker line. I closed the valve that supplies water to the ice-maker and the leak stopped. The valve is accessible by removing the refrigerator panel on the outside of the coach. I have not yet fixed the problem but believe it is a damaged hose.

I hope this helps.

Had the exact same problem on my Inspire last month. Turned the water off feeding the Ref behind the drawer under the Ref. It stopped the problem. Found a very small hole in the 1/4 inch line feeding the ice/water dispenser outside. I would continue to see a littler water outside on the bottom of the Ref control box which ends up inside the bottom drawer.

Hope this helps.

When we purchased our used 2001 Intrigue the wood under the refrigerator was stained black. It had been wet. The first rain we had we followed water dripping under the fridge into the draws. Turns out that the refrigerator vent on the outside had been forced in and was a wee bit warped and the lower edge sloped inwards. When it rained the water accumulated along the bottom of the molding and ran into the ply timber directly inside the compartment. Then it made its way to the woodwork below the refrigerator. Had nothing to do with the refrigerator itself. I built up a small bead/dam of silicon along the lower edge of the molding and we have never had water inside again.

Something to look at if you only get wet when it's raining.

By the way we had a Holiday Rambler with the exact same problem.

Thanks for the responses on the water leak under refrig. As it turns out, there was a crack in the supply hose out of the solenoid leading up to the refrigerator.. I tried to peal back the insulation and reconnect, but the line was deteriorating so needs to be replaced. I will order from Dometic, but I assume that to replace, the refrigerator has to be pulled out of the wall. How big of a project is pulling it out? What needs to be removed?

Thanks for your help.

After replacing 2 of the ice maker plastic tubing. I used 1//4" copper tubing to replace. I split the plastic shield for the heater wire and put both back on the copper tubing with plastic tape wrapped around the two.
You have to remove the refrig to be able to get to the ice maker tubing. I built a plate form to slid the refrig out on to. This is a two man job.

Good luck with the project.

Gordon;

I had the same problem with my 02 intrigue. Replacing the insulated water supply line to the ice maker is not particularly difficult.I had to remove the refrigerator to replace the line.I had enough room to pull it forward far enough to get to the upper connection. There are 4 to 6 screws inside the coach and 2 lag bolts on the rear of the fridge. The gas line must be disconnected and the electrical plugs unplugged. The fridge may be tightly wedged in the coach, I had a buddy push on the outside while I pulled on the inside took all afternoon
