I like to track fuel consumption for the entire coach. With winter coming, we will be using the Hydro Hot Furnace for space heating.
Looking at the data supplied, I cannot find the hourly fuel consumption of this furnace. Does anyone have the fuel factor in gph?
Thanks.

The Webasto burner in that unit burns ~0.5gal/hr *when burning*.
Thus IF the unit runs ~20% of the time in cold wx(~20F), it would consume ~0.1gal/hr x 24hrs = 2.4gal/day. This is what Vehicle Systems implies in the documentation for HydroHot.

If you have the Silverleaf unit take the fuel that the engine used & subtract it from your total fillup...that will give you gallons used from the Hydro Hot and/or genset.
I keep track of all my expenses with the Rolling Stock program from

I have an Ovation, 2004 with the Hydro hot. The hour gauge is mounted on top of the unit near the inside front corner, where you can't see it. I discovered it tracing wiring that had shorted to the frame of the hydro-hot causing one of the control relays to buzz when you turned off the diesel and elect switches. I am going to ask Chris Snyder at Beaudry in January if he's got any ideas. They burn .43 gals per hour of burner on time. TWI 11731

Tom;
Thanks. Our recent experience in MN with 27-29 degrees F overnight and the thermostat set at 62 degrees is more like 50% running. I will try to determine a run time factor as we experience colder temperatures.

Hi Terry;
Thanks, I agree and do that now. Our '02 Magna diesel furnace had an hour meter and fuel consumption was given in the manual. This allowed me to establish an independent fuel consumption. Also, with the diesel-fired genset, you also need to calculate fuel consummed when operating the genset.
Anyway, I do what you suggest, calculating the fuel factor backward.

Wow! This is great - I will look ASAP, but doubt I can see the top of mine with the limited space in the furnace compartment without using an extension mirror. Thanks!
