I'm in the final phase of installing a 37" Sharp LCD. I removed a 24" Panasonic LCD that I installed a couple of years ago.
So far I haven't had the coach out of my garage to test the satellite, but the off-air antenna gets a pretty good picture, even in the garage. DVD or VCR's display an exceptional picture. I ran it in the house for a few days prior to installing it in and the picture was exceptional.
To display photos from my laptop, I have ordered a special cable off the internet that is not available in the retail stores. The Sharp Aquos has a DVI port that I'm adapting via cable to VGA port on my laptop. Too bad I couldn't pick up one locally to see how it works, but I'll let you know within a few days I hope.
Changing to the larger 37" that is mounted across the front is major surgery but my trusty helpers, Trial and Error, have been with me all the way. I should be able to post some photos for a couple of folks that have requested within a week or so.
So far I have purchased around $250.00 worth of red oak. Only about $150.00 of it will actually go into the job, the rest goes in the fireplace. "If at first you don't succeed......"

For those who're planning to replace their headbanger TV with an LCD TV:
I just received the Dec '04 issue of *Consumer Reports* and there's a big section on conventional, LCD, Plasma and microdisplay TV's. As usual, and according to their test results, you do not automatically "get what you pay for."
For example, of 28 LCD/HD sets compared, the two most expensive ($6,000) models were rated #3 and #12, while a $3,500 model finished #1. And a $650 set rated #6!
Rather than me taking specific info out of context, I recommend that interested folks read the magazine. You could end up with a better performing/cheaper product.

IMHO, IF you pay more than ~$2.5K for a 30" LCD set, you are wasting money:
