I just had Cummins Rocky Mtn in Reno perform the 50 Hr maintenance on my Onan 12.5 generator. I was shcoked to see that this "Oil/Filter Change" was $223 for a 3-cylinder engine. Is this what others of you have experienced?

Thanks

We had ours done at Camping world about 9 months ago, and I think it was about $150.00 but that might have been on special also. I stood by the rig and watched to make sure they were doing it correctly, but also I wanted to see how to get in and out of the shell. It's really easy when they have it up on a lift. We've had much of our service done in Junction City and they charge pretty good for their work. I think the last oil change I had done there ran about $238.00. How about the rest of you?

Are you saying you have to pull the generator out just to change the oil? Gosh I hope not. I just bought a 2003 Allure and want to change my own oil. Please explain. Thanks

Onan filter $12. Three quarts of Rotella at Walmart about $5.
About $17 parts total for oil and filter change for your genset should be about right. Labor about 15 easy minutes max laying on your back to get to the access door for the filter and to pull the drain plug.

I meant the access panels, I wanted to see where they were while the coach was up on the lift. I also wanted to see where the oil came out and how to get there.

Thanks Joe! After I reread your post, I realized what you were saying.
