Have been monitoring this group for a while and very impressed with the knowledge. Have a problem.
We are fairly new owners of a 97 Intrique with a very noisy power switch. It hums in the same way as a very inefficient transformer would hum. Is this normal or is there something that can be done?
I understand the power switch is a big power relay but is there a large transformer in there also?

No transformers....Just large relays. As relays age with use, sometimes they will hum. Mine makes some noise too. I layed a few pieces of carpet pad on and around it and that helped muffle any noise. Yours is probably under the bottom drawer of the night stand on the drivers side (my side of the bed), like mine? Thought about relocating it to some other location, but not motivated enough yet.
Some parks, it makes more noise others. I just unplug at night if it bothers me too much. Wife thinks I am crazy....she might be right.

Thanks for the info, Mike. That is where mine is located also but it is my wife's side of the bed so you can understand the urgency related to finding a solution. I will try the insulation idea.

If interested, I uploaded a couple of photos in my folder (KC4FWS) of the power switch in my coach. Not sure if it is the same. My switch is located in the upper cabinet in bedroom behind the circuit breaker panel.
