The door awning on our 04 Allure will not work. Fuses are good, but button will not do anything. Anyone have any words of wisdom for trouble shooting?

It took a factory OEM engineer at the FMCA rally in Redmond Oregon acting as a repairmen 3 hours, three visits, and four motor gear assemblies in order to restore mine to proper operation. TWI 11731 Intrigue.

Hi Tom,
If I remember correctly, there is another fuse behind the switch panel itself. If not, there was one case where the switch itself was bad. You could take a clip lead and jump the switch to verify the defective switch; even use the awning this way until you get a replacement.(a little primitive)

Thanks Fred,
The switch is good, tested OK both in and out position. I can't get to the motor since the side cover has a screw that you can only access when extended. If there is another fuse somewhere, I sure can't find it. The Carefree paperwork that came with the Coach is really poor, no detail on troubleshooting and the web site doesn't offer anything other than a color selection. Wish I had the old Zip Dee back.

We has a problem with a Carefree awning just as described however the awning was closed. Being closed creates a problem as some of the screws that hold the motor housing together are only accessible from the backside therefore if the awning is open replacing the motor is easier. (Replacing was the only option.)
The interior of the old motor was rusted badly and was not salvageable. The motor in ours was not meant for exposure to the elements but the new one is. If I recall we got the replacement from Carefree....
Hope all of these answers help!
