Hi Folks,

Cummins is using EGR and Urea SCR injection to meet the 2007 emission standards.

-Hi TWI

Just Google 'urea injection cummins' for details.
A fine mist is injected of liquid urea. Also, a catalyst converter is added. I wonder how Catepillar is doing - no mention yet how they are going to meet the 2007 emissions standards? Fred Kovol

So, they are now connecting the black tank up to the engine?? Looks like the old GMC incinerator units were way ahead of their time! Tom Fisher

Went to Google and read some very informative articles. Seems there are more Cat stationary diesels, using the system than anything else. If this system is to be used we will now have an aoutput doubleddditional tank of Urea to hall around, fill and pay for. You noticed the CO out put doubled to get down the NOx down 80 +%. TWI

Hi Tom,

I owned a 74 GMC MH with a black tank masurator which fed the exhaust pipe - too bad they didn't bleed it to the engine intake manifold for less emissions at the tailpipe!
