Hello from a brand new member. Bought our '01 Intigue that was three months old, with 5800 miles on it in June. I'm retired army type and financial planner, and Molly is retired CPA, both now from San Diego. Just happened to hear of this site at the 2001 reunion and trying to get logged on. We have bunches of questions, but first need to make sure we know how to operate on this group.

Currently sitting in Bend Oregon at the Cummins place waiting for them to rebuild our new type ISL 8.9 engine which suddenly decided to blow a head gasket at three cylinders , swallow a valve and tear up a turbocharger. -and at only 12,000 miles. I think it's testing my patience and resolve, especially after the three episodes of oil leaks. Other than that we love our Intrigue and we sure had fun at the reunion. It was all that we expected and more, and met some wonderful people.
By the way, since my new Intrigue had a King Dome installed, I now have a three month old King Dome still under warrenty that I un-installed from my old Southwind that is for sale for half price.

regards ron and molly bodeen

Hello from NM. I have no idea what a King Dome is. I'm sorry to hear about your disaster with Cummins. I've owned three CC's,two with Cummins and have had no problems except for a minor fuel leak at one injector pipe. I would make sure that Cummins main office knows about your problem. I hope the previous owner didn't cause the problems.

It appears you can vent on anything you want here except commercials. Mostly people try to help each other out with CC and RV questions. There is also an RV Diesel Owners chat room in Yahoo that has some good info occaisonally. Good luck!

Sorry to hear of your problems but sometimes there are problems that "try" an owner but when solved the RV CC world become rosy again. We are also from the San Diego area and sorry we missed the reunion. Our names are Buzz and Jim Packard and we live in Coronado. We currently have a 2000 Affinity after starting with a 98 Magna. We love our new one and actually loved our last one also just got caught up in the desire for longer and more power....Hope we run into you sometime.

Hmm, makes me wonder why the previous owner decided to sell after only 3 months. That's close to commiting financial suicide. Do you have any idea what motivated him/her to sell ?

P.S.: I'm not trying to pass judgment on your decision to buy. I'm trying to understand why someone would sell after only 3 months. Maybe there were indications of a pending engine problem that he managed to keep quiet from you.

Regards,
Jeff

Well, we were told that "she" had more money than sense and that she wanted to travel with her older husband, and that it just sat in the drive and he refused to travel with it and she got sick of it sitting there. Also told that she did have to write quite a check to pay it off even with our purchase, but then you never know do you???? Anyway is was what we wanted, was available, and available locally. Only other new '01 Intrigue in the system was up at Guarranty in Junction City and could not get them down to the price we paid for this one. With the available warrenties such a scenario as you depict seems to be moot, but as I said - sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. look forward to meeting you at the 02 reunion. ron
