Egon: Since your coach is a 99, it's probably the same as mine. It's easiest to remove the top of the dash board and reach down behind the bulkhead in front of the pedals. I found mine there, well hidden. The cable was sufficiently long to allow it to be lifted up and the connections made.

I have found a round plug in the compartment under the transmission shifter panel (inside the storage compartment with all the wire bundles just to left of driver seat.) I couldn't find a round plug under the dash, only found the rectangular one used by Allison techs. If I post the photo of the one inside that compartment could someone tell me if that is correct one?
Thanks

Hi Travman,
I just looked at the two pictures you have in the files - can't make out anything in either. Need a picture looking at the face of the connector. Consider looking at the elcetrical foldout S0699 for the data lines and connector locations.

Fred,
Thanks for the note, I just checked my book and do not have S0699, mine jumps from SO698 to SO700. Does S0699 include my coach number 11040?
Thanks

Hi Travman,
There should have been foldouts(larger than 11x17) in one of the binders you received with the coach documentation - one electrical(2sheets) and one pneumatic(2 sheets).
The electrical shows the dc voltage and data busses with the interconnects (connectors) from the back to the front and includes such items and the Engine ECM interface, VIM(internal) and ABS/ ATC(Wabco) computer interface.

Fred,
I found the S0699 drawing in the plastic folder, it does show an rear engine ECM connector (in the fuel filter bay) but doesn't show one in the front. I will put more pictures of the connector which I found in the shifter compartment to left of driver where all the wires are crammed into tight space. I believe that connector might just be a manufacturing test connector but not sure.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Travman,
Consider doing what was suggested by another group member - remove the dash cover and look down between the barrier and the front fiberglass, it should be there along with other wiring.
Fred Kovol
My S0699 shows the front buss connector - yours should also, it's to the right of the Wabsco interface.

Fred,
Thanks, I'll look under the dash but after looking at the print it doesn't show the connector in front of coach...to the right on my print it only shows the Allison Transmission Reader Port under dash.
Doesn't show any other connector there but I might be missing it.
My print says it covers coach numbers 110007-30465

Hi Travman,
The Allison reader port is the connector! The Engine ECM, Transmission, and Wabsco (ATC/ABS) communicate with each other via J1939 and Jxxxx(I forget the protocol number)data buss software and hardware protocol.

Fred,
The problem with the Allison connector is that it is a rectangular plug and cannot be simply plugged into Silverleaf interface, you must splice behind the connector and I wanted to use the round plug which matches up the silverleaf connector if I could. silverleaf tells me that some CC units have the round ecm plug under the dash while others do not. That is why I have been searching for the round plug and thought that I may have found it when I opened the cover on the compartment to the left of driver under the shifter controls, the blue round plug there must be some sort of manufacturers test plug. I put more pictures of it in file section under VMS. I still cannot access the Photos section it gives me an error message.
Thanks for your help.

Leon: Have you called Silverleaf? They were very helpful in directing me to the proper plug. They couldn't tell me where to find it, but they know what the plug looks like.

I called Silverleaf and they told me to splice wires into the Allison plug and wire in behind the connector, their site shows that but I would rather not have to do that if I can find an existing plug to just plug into.
