We had our voltmeter problem repaired today by a mobile RV repair guy (RV Max/Ed Kirkland; phone 912-884-5043; cell 912-665-0202) who lives near Brunswick, GA, where we're staying at Golden Isles RV Park.
He obtained VERY able assistance from Jorie, a CCI tech, who steered him in the right direction ... even calling him back as promised, impressing the heck out of Ed.

After extensive electrical system checking and testing, replacement of the voltmeter was thought to be necessary. But the problem turned out to be a voltmeter connection which was very tight to the touch ... but apparently was slightly corroded enough to cause the meter's needle to act erratic. After loosening the nut, cleaning the connection and retightening the nut, the needle is now as steady as a rock. Time and bouncing over-the-road miles will tell.
Moral: Don't think that connections are OK just because they FEEL tight.

I'll be sending a thank you note to CCI for the great service provided by Jorie. And I think I'll apply some Anti-Ox to the gauge connections.

Dick, you're going to spoil those guys if you start sending them letters of thanks----but you are right, they do a heck of a good job. I remember when Jim Cooley did it all by his lonesome, and I told Bob Lee at one of the rallies that Jim was the best salesman he had.
