My tank is full. The rain has stopped. And I got nuthin'. lol
There is a soleniod on the gas line after the regulator. Could this be malfunctioning or am I missing the switch to turn it on? I don't any gas past that fitting. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think that solonoid is controlled by the propane detector located near the floor by the range. You may have to reset it by turning it off and back on. We once had ours shut off by a pet bumping it. Good luck.

Thanks Harvey. Turned the alarm on and it will not go off. I disconnected the alarm and now have propane. Appreciate the help.

Jay, did you reconnect the alarm after disconnecting it? If the alarm was keeping your propane from flowing, there was either a problem with the alarm itself or there was a propane leak that it detected. Before you use the propane, shouldn't you have the alarm checked and check your system for leaks?

Carol,
The solenoid clicks when the alarm is by passed. The alarm is 15 years old and probably needs to be replaced. I will see if it can be tested. I have read that even new alarms can be defective.

Guess I worry too much about propane, Jay. (and electrical problems) > Would hate to read that you had blown up because of a propane leak.

Glad you have propane again. The detector will take a while to reset (1 or 2 minutes) which will seem forever while the alarm is sounding.
Carol is correct to advise you to be sure you don't have a propane leak if you bypass the alarm. It may just be doing its job.
