Dear Buzz,
Congratulations on your decision to full time and see the USA!
I"m in the Florida Keys, still work, and have a 36 CC. We can only take occasional trips because of work, cost, etc.
Best of Luck!

Welcome and I suggest you read a lot of back posts and information in the files section. They are a great coach, but like all, can have some troubles.
And Merry Christmas to you too.

Good afternoon CC list type people... Gordon Tamplin here AKA Gordo Doing my intro as requested by our CC list moderator.
I bought a 99 CC Allure 40 foot La Pine last week. I live in Sacramento, Ca and have been RVing since the tender age of 1, now 51 (today). I have owned many different types of RV's during my years of RVing. My first was a Open Road cab-over on a Ford F-350 at age 18. Since my first "all mine"? unit I have owned so many different types and styles it hard to remember them all... One things for sure... I always wanted a Country Coach but was unable till now to afford one ( I never finance depreciating assets ). So it's "PFSS"? (Paid For Single Slide)
I'm sure I'll have a few questions about some operational short cuts or what the heck is this or that switch is for. Yes my owners manual is missing in action, but a quick call to CC customer service should bring about a photo copied manual within a few weeks. Speaking about customer service, CC is the best I've yet received from any RV manufacture hands down. CC makes Monaco look like, will... Fleetwood (and that isn't very good, no matter how you look at it)
Come to think of it after owning a Holiday Rambler Endeavor, I've become somewhat spoiled with regards to it plumbing compartment. The CC units seems rather small in comparison and not nearly as nicely laid out. I can't seem to find the black holding tank rinse system (if any... is what I'm thinking right about now). I figured out the white valve above to the cable TV inlet (rather strange place for a cable TV inlet plug within a "wet environment"? compartment) as I owned a few Safari products (Trek's) and they had the very same fresh water city fill valve. Seems all manufactures (no matter how much you spend) fail to label their valves very well or at all.
Don't get me wrong... I bought this CC for the Chassis... I got tired of fighting my freightliner... This CC is dream to drive-!! Okay... Thanks in advance for any info shared... I'm sure I'll be able to help out also, as most RV's are just rolling earthquakes waiting to exploit their owners (ground wires always come to mind). Off to Pacifica this weekend on my second point n shoot CC road trip... 106 degree Sacramento temps are not what I'd call... Outdoor friendly.

Gordo,
John here in Orangevale , welcome Gordo. You are right it is too hot outside to be friendly , 107.2 right now, that is why I am on the net now! I have had my Allure for less than a year and love it. Great company support.

Hi Gordo,
"CC units seems rather small in comparison and not nearly as nicely laid out. I can't seem to find the black holding tank rinse system if any... is what I'm thinking right about now)."
You are correct most Allures of the late 90's had no black tank wash system I've seen a couple that were owner installed. It is a pain but the rest of the coach is great. By the way 112 in Tucson today.

Gordo and Jack,
On my 04 Allure, the water closit is right above the holding tank, when I really wany to clean it out I have a pipe with a hose conection I made up that I can use thur the water closit valve and really get the tank clean. I have done this after I used the tank flush system and you would be surprized how much _ _ _ _ came out!
Jack , you are more of a man than I to stand the temps down there!! I will not complain any more!!! We cool down here at night.

John and Jack... Gordo here.
I'll sure miss my HR's black tank rinse system. It never left "any" by gone era waste behind. Wondering if any CC 99 vintage owners have installed a blank tank rinse system? Not sure I'll be able to live without one of these handy Mr. cleans backing me up.
Headed for cooler temps...108* in Sacramento yesterday was over the top. I'm outta here for coastal weather in da 70's :o)
You all have a safe weekend.

I had a '99 Allure, coach #30282, and had a black tank rinse system installed by Beaudry RV when I took delivery of the motorhome. I never had a problem with it like I have with the factory-installed rinse system in my '05 Intrigue. They installed it directly into the side of the black tank at the utilities compartment so there was NO long run of piping to the far side before reaching the rinse fitting.

Gordo,
I just measured to the top of the black tank and picked a good place.
Then I took a hole saw and cut a circle out of the white fiberglass panel to accommodate a white plastic drain pipe collar. I made sure the collar was big enough to accommodate an aftermarket tank flush like the Camping World No-Fuss Flush. I drilled just deep enough for the pilot drill to go into the black tank. I trimmed the back of the collar so it would fit flush against the black tank surface. Then I installed the tank flush hose connection by cutting a smaller hole in the black tank using the earlier pilot hole to center it. It's simple, effective, and has been working fine for five years.
