For those of you who have Smart Tire systems what is the highest temps you have seen for your tires? My driver's side inside dual on the rear has recorded 162 degrees. All others run 140's or less. What do you th

I, HAVE THE SMART TIRE SYSTEMS, FIRST THE TIRE TEMP. DOES AT TIMES GET THAT HOT ON THE BACK INSIDE IN NV. WITH 106 TEMP. OUT SIDE. THE REST OF THE TIME IT RUNS ABOUT THE 142 TEMP. I, HAVE IT WITH THE SMART TIRE, THEY KEEP GOING OUT ON ME, CHANGE THE SENDING UNIT, THEN ONE OF THE OTHERS WILL NOT WORK ARE ALL. OR IT WILL DO SOME THINGS AND NOT OTHERS. SOME DAYS IT WORKS WELL OTHER THE LIGHT KEEP GOING ON. THE AIR TO MUCH OR TO LOW. STOP CHECK IT OUT, IT IS FINE. I, MAY JUST NOT BE LUCK. BUT, I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY THING THAT IS ANY BETTER. DOES ANY ONE HAVE A BETTER MOUSE TRAP??? ALLURE 2000 30498 CAPT. DAN

Hello dmgelaine_02

I've only had my coach since October and the highest I've seen mine is 140 for the left inside dual. They mostly run about 115-120, but the weather is relatively cool now. I'm sure I'll see higher temps this summer. As you probably know, the duals run warmer than the rest because of reduced air circulation and because this is where the brakes are. I was at the Tampa RV show and just purchased the Crossfire tire pressure equalizer for the duals. Since the inners get warmer, the pressure increases, and the tire diameter gets bigger than the outers. Hence, the inners take more of the load.
The Crossover equalize the pressure and keeps an equal load on both tires. There is a safety feature that prevents the good tire from losing its air if the other one has a blowout. The manufacturer claims 20% less tire wear.

Dan, I kept getting a red light on my Smartire too until I reprogrammed it. The tire pressure and temp correlation setting was incorrect. There is a good set of programming instructions here at "Files" or "Database" (I forget which). I also got some help from Samrtire techs via Email. Once I reprogrammed it, problem solved. No more red lights. I think most RV techs don't understand how to program it correctly. Good luck!

Dan,

I have used the pressuro pro system since it came out six months ago.
It has stem-valve caps that measure pressure that is sent to a central unit in the coach.

It will also work on the toad tires.
It has worked reliably so far.

When using this system, it is important to use quality stem valve extenders, as they will now be under pressure all the time. I had one leak slowly when the cap was on.

Don't know if this is a better moustrap, just a different one.

My system works fine without the antenna extender.
Maybe the length of the coach makes a difference (mine is 36 ft).
