Well I leaned pretty heavy on my range cover and I broke it. It is really pretty thin corian. It is about $325 for a new cover. I was wondering if anyone had gotten a wooden one and tried it. I know the previous owners of our coach broke the cover also. I hate to spend that amount of money just to break it again.
Another possibility would be to fix it. Does anyone know how to fix corian? I'm thinking super glue :-).

Ours partially cracked and I got a 1/4" piece of plywood and glued it to the back of the corian. Still a small crack line shows and it is a little heavy but sure is now sturdy.

Corian top :Look in phonebook or call a few cabinet shops in your area and find out
who the corian franchisee is in your area. If the break is clean and you haven't lost
any parts, your Corian dealer has a bonding agent that will make it like new..Its a special
glue and I don't think its easy to find.
If they have an piece of your color in stock, they might make you one for $100-150. Any good finish carpenter or cabinet shop could also make you one out of hardwood..probably for the same
kind of money.

I broke one in half rounding a corner and hit a bump in the road. It bounced off the stove and hit the corian floor. I glued it with magic glue and epoxied four aluminum angle pieces on the back. I would recommend to all to store the stove top and sink tops while traveling like the manual says. rvhfy in NM.

Just had the same problem with cook top breaking. Local Corian shop will replace the corian with 1/2" rather than 1/4" for $160... said it was way too thin for the use it is being put to.

I am late in reading the msgs, but will give my 2 cents worth anyway!
After I broke mine ( dropped it as I was putting it back on) I changed tot he American Dream/Eagle style cover. A 1/2 in thick corian plate with original wood front is hinged at rear and 2/3 of way to front. This lifts from front and folds backwards to rest against backsplash far enough back that cooking has not singed it. Unfortunately, the cost is conciderably more than $325.

Mine partially cracked. I got a 1/4" plywood the same size and glued the counter-top to it. It is a little heavy and the crack is somewhat noticeable but it sure is more sturdy.

You don't say what year coach you have, but the 2001 Intrique I have did have the same problem. When I contacted Doug Beaurdry @ CC I was told it was under warrantee, and I could send it back for repair/replacement. We have a good corian shop here in town that has done a lot of work at my house and others I know. They were willing to fix it, and CC agreed to pay for it. The said the problem is that the 1/4" is much too thin, especially in a moving vehicle with movement stress. They replaced it with 1/2" for $160.00, it looks like new, same as rest of corian, and fits into the storeage slot. They also said that we could have problems with the rest of the corian too since it is all 1/4"! But my friend just got a 2002 and CC has seen the light and has used all 1/2" throughout!

Interesting that CC thought 1/4" was thick enough. My 1996 Beaver Patriot has 1/2" covers for both stove and sink. I still treat them with care!
