We just bought an 04 Allure and have noticed that there is a smell similiar to diesel in the bathroom area. We were told that it is the liquid in the hydro-hot. When it gets warm or hot it produces that smell.
Anyone else have that problem?

If these penetrations are not well sealed you will get diesel odor in the bath area which is probably just over the hydrohot bay. 04 Intrigue 11740

Yes, we had a similar problem with our previous coach - 02 Intrigue and we never were able to get rid of the smell despite many attempts from CC and Carrier's.

I hope you have better luck than we.

do you have a Hydro Hot?? or a Hurricane hydronic?? do you have the green water heater hose?? if you have the green hose, your in for a whopper of a deal, I just went thru this and I cured 90% of the smell under way and 100% when parked.

changed out all the original green hose except on top of the water tank area to the Goodyear hose with blue stripe.. then got rid of the yellow/green coolant and went with Cummins premium blue pre-mix coolant, it requires a complete drain and flush to clear water first, then drain complete, then change all the green hose that's accessible to Goodyear hose, then refill with new coolant. It's a helluva job. I had Buddy Gregg in Lakeland do it and i'm thrilled with their service work so far.

Heard from CC tech that the chamber that holds the burner bolts being loose will cause the problem.

In fact, the smell was sooooo bad in mine, that it was unbearable to me, when really hot. It was actually a reaction with the old dying coolant and the green hose material. Although we are talking coolant, the smell was that of raw diesel fuel, as if you stuck your head in a bucket of fresh fuel. Be sure you change the hose up front at the dash heater controls as well, if it's green hose, and reachable, get rid of it. When you flush the engine, make sure the dash heater is on, and fully hot, to circulate any green coolant from the heater core as well.
