Occasionally, manufacturers make significant changes in their models from one year to the next. Are you aware of any year model changes in the Intrigue or Magna coaches that we should be aware of in deciding what year models we want to look at? Thanks

"rancher500us",

Probably the two biggest changes came in the 2000 models. That is when the Magna & Intrigue went to independent front suspension and installed the diesel furnace & water heater. The Intrigue made an appearance change in 2002 and the Magna in 2005. The number of slides and slide technology has made many changes since the '96 models. CC also added tag axles around 2002/2003 to support the weight of the additional slides. The electronics have been in transition since about '99--tv bigger including some Plasma, some LCD and a projection model.

Those are some of the biggest changes, but others may remember more.

Hope this helps...............

I believe that CC changed from Gillig to Dynomax chassis in '99 although I don't see any problems with my '98 Magna Gillig. I think the Dynomax allowed them to add weight, tag axles, etc. on future models.

For the record, the '98 Magna Fanfair has a diesel heater.

Rancher, there are two items in particular you should know about. During the 2000 model year tire size was changed from a low profile ( 275x75x22.5 I think they were) to 12x22.5, a much bigger tire which required some chassis changes. I had an early 2000 Intrigue with the low profile tires and went through two or three recalls for front tire replacement and ride ht. valve re-configuration. It is necessary to carry high pressure in the smaller tires which affects ride comfort. I strongly suggest you look for a coach with the 12x22.5 tires.
Also, in 2000 Intrigue and I think Magna models CC went to independent front suspension, a great improvement in handling ease and reduced turning radius.
One other thing I just thought of----my 03 Allure has slide mechanisms that provide easy access to storage below the slides whereas my 2000 slide was such that it had smaller bay doors below it which required a lot of stooping.. No really big deal, but creature comforts do count.

Good luck,

In 1999 the Magna had a "Ridewell" suspension and mine has the diesel furnace and water heater. Not sure about the suspension.
