I've uploaded a new file to the PHOTO section called "Davis Cabinet TV Redo on 2001 Intrigue". It contains photos of the "Before" (which has some cabinet fronts previously done by Davis), the mess of spaghetti during, and then the final version of our major electronic retrofit which included installation of electronic visors which are the "black line" you see under the cabinets as well as the 32" HDTV (Sharp Aquos).

Shawn Davis and John Soden (the electronics guru who did the electronics) were as usual outstanding. We're VERY pleased with the outcome.

It took a week to do and cost about $11,000 which included all the electronics, a new sound system (surround), new high grade DVD player, moving all our 'old stuff' to better locations, the new visor installation, etc. Now even our back TV integrates with some functions which it didn't before.

Shawn built a new woofer box to match our walnut cabinets. That rides behind the passenger seat.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Nice job and I know your are glad to get that project done. What size visors did you use and where did they end up putting the switches for them?

Richard, we used the CC visors off the 2005 Intrigue model which are 40" wide overall I think if I recall. We removed the fans up front since in 4 years we've never used them, so the new visor switches (which are just black rocker switches we got in the CC parts dept.) went into those areas on the dash. We thought we could use the existing wiring, but that didn't happen...had to rewire for them, but used the old wire I think to fish out the new.
We're waiting to order the manual passenger side pulldown shade, but they didn't have what we wanted in stock, (has to fit the 37" window) so we'll order that later...we're currently using "Camping World" sun shade stuff that sticks to the window which has worked out very well so that's not an immediate need. We also removed the existing 'map light" (joke) that was there and will in the future install a high intensity light, but not sure where, so we just kept the wiring up there and shall do that in the future.

Jan -

Looked at the photos of your new front cabinets and 32" HDTV and it is really nice! They did a fantastic job. I'm sure you'll get a lot of enjoyment from it.
