Cruise control doesn't work, windshield wiper starts by itself when I make a hard left turn (only left, not right) and the horn doesn't work. Fuse? Where? Help!!!

Thanks,

Carol

My Smartwheel stopped functioning altogether...There are only two things that can be bad. Controller or Touchpad on the steering wheel. Since you have some function with the windshield wipers, I suspect it is not a fuse and not the controller...I would suspect the touchpad on the steering wheel has gone haywire. I had my rig repaired at the Coach Care facility in El Cajon, Ca under warranty. http://www.funroads.com (http://www.funroads.com) Dexter

My guess is that it is a broken wire in the cable harness that wraps around your steering wheel or a connecter that is being separated while turning the wheel.

Carol, my understanding of the Smartwheel is that all functions are controlled via a clockspring(or watchspring) contact. That varying voltages control the various functions. My clockspring broke so that I was getting similar results to those that you report. Simple fix was a replacement clockspring contact installed under warranty by Buddy Gregg in Knoxville.
