Title: Wiper Blades Not in Synch

On my 98 Intrigue the wipers do not stay in synch. I seldom drive in the rain but I am curious, is this something to worry about? Other than the synch they seem to work fine.

Mike,

The wipers will only in in Sync when you are on delay. Once you switch to full on they go out of sync. My theory is there are two seperate motors, one for each wiper, and they are bound to get out of sync with each other. Auto only have one motor.

Our '01 Intrigue has separate motors for rt/lt. Makes for an interesting motion.

We have two motors and three controls for our wipers.
(1) delay system - both wipers operate. ( I don't recall, but don't think they operate in sync.)

(2) separate two-speed switches (left and right) then allow independent operation of each. This came in handy when one blade insert disintegrated. fortunately it was the right side and we could shut it off before it had a chance to scratch the windshield.

Do the newer coaches have the same setup?

Our wipers are not in sync either. I believe this is a system left over from buses. (who thought buses are so great!). Nothing to worry about, but strange when you are used to car wipers.
