If any of you are experiencing noise caused by the anemometer which controls the closing of the awning under high wind speeds go to the Girard website which is
www.girardrv.com and get info on the replacement part which has steel cups and a bearing instead of the original which was plastic and had a bushing. I replaced mine and there is absolutely no noise in the coach. The Girard people are very accomodating and will probably give you a break on the new piece. I replaced mine myself, it is a simple job with minimal skill required.

When I replaced the noisy anemometer with the one with metal cups, I later found that my controller box was not fully compatable. They provided a new controller (free). Let them know the model number of the controller when making this change to the quiet anemometer.
