I have only owned my 2002 Intrigue for one year and just recently found this site. On Friday while in the desert very near the Mexican border my coach would not react to turning the ignition key. I checked the battery with a MM and then a hydrometer, both showed the starting battery to be fully charged. Next I tried the old booster trick (why I don't know), no success.

Last week I was scanning this site and came across some of the causes and solutions to this "lack of favorable action when attempting to start". My wife turned the key, I tapped the solenoid located on the starter with a broom handle and the engine came to life immediately. I've started the coach five times since this incident (without the stick) but will replace the solenoid if I find all the wiring to be tight and in good condition.

Thanks again!

I have a reminder note in my "Country Coach" archives to buy a 250A Blue Sea continuous duty solenoid from West Marine. But I don't remember if it was for the starter, or another application. Does anyone know?
I do know that marine solenoids are very expensive, but for good reason (higher quality contacts).

Thanks to everyone on this board who've answered questions regarding CC over the past 3.5 years. We have signed the papers on an 03 Intrigue Ovation and will take delivery on April 17.
We appreciate the inclusiveness of this board, when I joined, I had tried to join several others. Foretravel and Monaco would not allow us to join because we didn't own a coach. THANKS!!! Reese & Ann
