We are looking to purchase a used (2000-2003) Class A diesel motorhome. We are focusing on Country Coach because of it's reputation for safety, reliability and construction.
This weekend we will be touring the factory and visiting several RV dealerships in the area.
We are planning on full-timing and are thinking about a 40-ft. Intrigue or Allure. Does anyone know if there are better years for these models? Specifically, weight issues and cargo carrying capacity? We know that in late 2000 Country Coach added IFS and went to the 22.5 " tires. Are there any major changes/improvements that any of you are aware of that would cause you to buy one year over another?
In Junction City, are there any dealerships/salespeople that you would recommend? We're hoping to purchase our motorhome within the next few months and will look forward to seeing you on the road by this time next year. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Bob and Gail, I recommend you see Damon Rapozo at Guaranty RV in Junction City. He has been CC's salesman of the year several years running and probably knows more about about CC's than anyone in that area.
One other tip. If you look at 2000"s look for those with the 12/22.5 tires. A great deal of problems were encountered with the 275x75x22.5 so-called" low profile tires". Also make sure the factory recall re relocation of ride height valves from 2 frnt- 1 rear to 1 frnt- 2 rear has been done. I had an early 2000 Intrigue and went thru the difficulties encountered with the tires. Be advised, though, that CC backed up their products and took corrective action.
Good luck.

I have a 2000 Allure that has a production date of January 2000 and it came with 22.5 tires, IFS and ride height valves 1/2 front/rear.
Coaches with a tag axle will typically have more carrying capacity but you give up storage bay space.

But you can always go to Davis Cabinet and get more cabinets installed in the living area to take advantage of the higher carryinc capacity! ;-)

I have a 2000 Magna, 40 ft, which I am interested in selling. It has a single slide, single rear axle, with a CAT C-10 engine (385 hp). It has approx 48000 miles on it with low generator use. We are the original owners. You won't find a better cared for unit out there. It has always been garaged when we were not using it. It has never been in an accident and the body is in excellent condition as is the interior. The cargo carrying capacity is significant; you won't be able to exceed it. You can call me at 865-621-8551 for more info, if interested. Skip

When we were looking at our '99 Magna, Damon was very helpful even though we were buying from an individual. He is a great resource.
I think that the one thing that we found in our search for both of our coaches was that there is no telling 'till you look. You may find options on one coach that you don't find on the same year on another model. It seems like CC phased in stuff by model. I would look at the ones that are interesting to you and don't assume that just because it is a 19xx or a _ model that it will or won't have something.
