Title: Great experience with Country Coach's factory service dept.
Post by: Glen Gieg on May 06, 2005, 09:00:29 pm
Yahoo Message Number: 16454 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/16454)With lots of negativity out there on the various forums, when something good happens, you all need to hear about it.
I have had a recurring electrical problem with my '04 Magna since I bought it just over a year ago. I have had it in CC's service dept. a few times for warranty and some other issues and asked them to check this problem out. They "re-programmed" something each time, but to no avail in fixing the problem.
I recently discovered that the problem was there again and called CC's service dept. and spoke with a Customer Support Manager who was extremely helpful and booked me into the shop as a "comeback" within two days! He put me in touch with an employee who works right under him who was going to work on my coach. I met the guy at the assigned time on the morning of service and he was awesome. In just minutes of messing around with the Total Coach System panel and the VMS screen on the SilverLeaf, he properly diagnosed the electrical problems and said he needed to replace some gizmo that communicates with those two systems. He was also kind enough to take care of a couple of other minor things that were bothering me, even though I was just "worked in" to fix the electrical problem. The service was done in a timely manner and it looks like everything works properly this time.
I couldn't help but notice that when I was in the office adjacent to the camping area, and in the service department's office, that virtually EVERY CC employee that passed me, spoke to me and had a cheerful attitude! Unbelieveable, in this world of business today! I can't tell you if the "fix" this time will be a good one, or if it will re-occur. I can't tell you that this particular CC unit will never have problems down the line. I can tell you this date (5-6- 05) that Country Coach is alive and well, and they damned sure DO TRY to take care of us! I bought my Country Coach because I was expecting to get this kind of thoughtful and timely service, and they delivered.
As for the forum idiot who said that they would have to close the factory for a month because they couldn't pay Worker's Comp payments -- hogwash! They are busy, busy, busy around the factory areas in Junction City! If any motor home manufacturer is makin' money, it must be CC - and that is good for all of us who need to have them around! They are even trying to expand on 75 acres adjacent to the factory in JC!
Anyway, a BIG THUMBS UP from my perspective, this time around. They are a good company. If anyone reading this is "on-the-fence" over buying a Country Coach -- just DO IT! They are the best that this industry has to offer (no, I don't work for them!).

Great to hear about the good experiences and thanks for taking the time to post it. I am a second owner of a Country Coach and I figured that I would be on my own when it came to technical support. Was I wrong! After about two months of ownership I had a question about an electrical problem I was troubleshooting. I gave them a call and they treated me like I was a new coach owner. I could not believe it. I have been to one CCI Rally and learned about the factory teams repairing problems. I have called after hours and on weekends several times and have always been pleasantly greated and assistance provided. I cannot say enough about the support after the sale, even a second owner.

Glad to hear these positive experiences about CC. We too are 2nd owners and have been treated like an original owner. The human tendency is to emphasize our coach failings. Our coach had only 7500 miles when we bought it at 1+ YO. It has performed essentially as advertized while service and techs has met/exceeded our previous coach experiences. This is not to say nor deny some owners have had sad mishaps and confrontations....we've shared them here. All things considered, our next coach will again, be a CC. BTW. You may already be aware that diesel prices are higher in Canada. If you enter Canada thru the border station near Bonner, Idaho, there is a convenient RV park (Idyl Acres) and a small (accessible) nearby gas station with diesel as I recall. The RV park owner can direct you if you're using that route. My road notebook is in the coach so, sorry, I can't be more specific. Happy travels...we look forward to your Alaska reports. Yahoo Message Number: 16468 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/16468)Glen I hope you are not refering to me as the "forum idiot". I was the one that posted about the comments on another BB (digest 16442). I did not start the rumor here or there, I ask a simple question and it appears people began to read into it what they wanted. I do know the person that posted on RV.Net about the shutdown, he does not own a CC but he does follow the financials of NRVH which I don't.
