If my memory serves me correctly I stopped at a "truck" rest stop while traveling south on I95 just after crossing over the Virginia/DC state line. Does any one know if there is a rest stop on the north bound side of I95 in that area?
It was a great rest stop, quite large, well lighted vending machine area. We spent the night.

Michael, welcome to the CC group. Hope that you enjoy your coach and this web site. The folks on this site are for the most part a super group, always willing to help. And yes, sometimes they do poke a little fun at each other. But with humor, that's a tough thing to do correctly all of the time without offending folks.

You've got a great coach, my wife still misses her Intrigue!!!
Safe travels and looking forward to benefiting from your experiences/knowledge.

Yes right in that area there are separate car and truck rest areas.
There is also a Flying J at Fredericksburg.

Denny,

There are rest stops on the north and south bound sides of 95 coming out of DC on the south side. but I would not use them for over night. Do yourself a favor and stay in a campground if you stay in the DC area. When we lived in DC about 10 years ago all the rest stops south of the city had serious crime problems, murders, and robberies. I don't even stop in those rest stops. Use the ones north of DC between Dc and Balto. on 95. They are much safer. Better still stop at Cherry Hill Campground, not cheap but if you can afford the diesel fuel you can afford a safe place to stop.

Yes, there is a Rest Area going North that is about 25-30 miles south of Washington.

Denny there is a rest stop on both sides of the highway in that area. As a matter of a fact there is both a truck stop and a rest area within about 1/2 mile of each other. They are both before the Woodbridge exist and right after the Dale City exit.
Hope you and Gayle have a great trip. We are spending the first part of the summer in Pensacola.
