If anyone gets the Garmin 2610, the card that comes with it (compact flash) is about 128 MB. If you purchase the 1GB card you can include about 1/2 the US on the card. If you buy a 2GB card you can include the entire US on your card so you would not have to upload data as your travel changes. Another option is a couple of cards with various parts of the US on it.
Sam's has 1GB compact flash cards for around $72. That has been the best price around even from the web.

I bought the 1gb card at SAMS but it didn't work properly with my Garmin 2610, it will work with a 256mb card. When I try to use it with the 1gb card, it loads the maps fine from the computer but then when I try to use the 2610, it starts loading the maps and then just stops. So, now I have a 1gb card in my camera, it works great there, and a 256mb card in the Garmin.
