Hi Everyone - First a big thank you for all the information and help we've received from folks on this site. Last month Gail & I bought a 2000 Magna - our first motorhome. In July, we'll be bringing it back home to California from Knoxville, TN on I-40.
Does anyone have any suggestions for campgrounds and/or points of interest along the way? Tips or advice for a maiden voyage? We're very excited and just a bit terrified!
This will be our first ever extended RV trip so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
Bob Kantor & Gail Wilson

Congratulations!
We are sure you will enjoy your first trip. I-40 is quite scenic. We have traveled on it from Tulsa to Albuquerque. We stayed in a very nice Campground in Santa Rosa, NM. It is a very pleasant southwestern town. The folks who run the campground are great.

1. Get a FMCA Map book if you can. Shows RV parks including big rig parks along the road.
2. Get a book like, "The Most Scenic Drives in America", Readers Digest.
3. Read the all the stuff That comes with your coach.
4. After you get hooked up and ready to go check everything again.
Drive a few miles, stop and make another walk around and check again.
that is, awnings, doors, connectors to tow vehicle....
5. We also have a daily log where we keep, parks we like, costs,
milage, tire pressure checks, little notes about what we see....
Good luck, Al

Make sure you have your RV service locations map out just in case.
