This is for anyone traveling I 44 west of St. Louis. I 44 is down to one lane around the Cuba, MO area. It has been on the news a lot lately to find different routes. The drive from our home to Springfield, MO is normally around 3 to 3 1/2 hours. I've had friends come back saying it took them 6 to 7 hours.
So just a warning if you have options. I know the problem is I 44 is sometimes the only route. Another option is later in the evening or early AM. I'm not sure it that helps.
The news has died down on the the last week and my friends were down there 2 weeks ago. So maybe it's better. Do a search for the MODOT web site. It is pretty good on construction info.

This should be fixed by the first of next week. Which is great as we
are planning on a trip down to Branson over the weekend before the 4th.
