Just started today...our front door can no longer be opened from the outside even when no locks have been engaged to begin with. It can only be opened from the inside. So in effect, we are locked out if no one is inside to open the door. Has anyone experienced this problem? Can anyone offer suggestions as to how to go about attempting a repair? We don't plan to be near a service center for about a week or so. Fortunately, we have our young children with us and we can send them through a window to let us in when we all go out some place. But that's not a very good solution even in the short run. Thanks for any suggestions.

Tony, does your Inspire have the door built by some "aircraft door" company in Southern CA? If so, I think I can help you out. The door on our Intrigue was hard to open and I took it apart and found the problem.

You need to determine if it is the upper or lower lock. In my '05 Inspire the lower lock is solenoid controlled and works with remote. You can tell if it is the upper lock by pulling on the door from the outside. If it ajars a little, it means that the upper lock is engaged. If it feels locked solid, it is likely the lower (solenoid) lock (at least that is how it acts in the '05.

We had an issue with the door stuck but it was from the inside. We were actually stuck with the Holland technician on the inside. Had to have someone come over to help when finally the tech was able to force it open. He unscrewed the latch plate and adjusted it. He got it to work better but we needed to have it adjusted again later. Since the second adjustment we have not had any issue.
