We plan to be in the above area in early August or September. We'd like a recommendation if you have one for parks to stay at. Thanks in advance.

Our hometown and we love it. The location is great for hitting the historic areas. NN Park is all woods sits with some water sits.
Roads are blacktop. There is a great 5 mile Bike trails that can go to Yorktown. Lots to do. Only down side is the herrican we had took down trees that took money for neede improvement to restrooms.
Park is operated by Park Rangers that do a great job. More security than your average campground.

Overall rating 4 out of 5 stars.
