Has anyone had any experience camping near Savannah? There are several campgrounds around there, but they have mixed reviews. I would appreciate hearing from anyone about one that is accessable and decent for our big rigs for a 3-4 day visit.
Thanks!

We read bad things about Bellaire Woods in Savannah, but a friend told us it was nice. So we tried it. The people who ran it were not as friendly as some campground and they do have rules, but none were a problem for us. We were there for a dog show and a number of dog show people stayed there and said they always did. It is nice shaded and closer to town than others. It was not far from the Interstate. There is a Seafood place (can't remember the name) at the Interesection of I95 and Highway 204.
We stayed in site 85 which was all by itself and was nice. Site 100-109 are all pull thrus and you should have plenty of room. All nice shade. Sites 1 - 33 were to the right and all seemed good also.
Directions, on Georgia Highway 204, 2 1/2 miles West of I - 95. 912-748-4000. I think it took us about 20 minutes to get to downtown Savannah.
