We ae looking to buy an RV lot in Florida. We want a lot on the East coast if possible for just motorhomes. We looked at Port St Lucie but are not golfers and don't want to spend $120,000 and up. Does anyone know of anything being built? There is nothing on the East coast that is south of Ft Pierce. Can't firgure out why RV manufacturers are not investing in building RV resorts. The demand is there!! Intrigue 11116 Bob

Bob

I think we are going to see fewer and fewer RV parks due to the fact that the land is simply getting too valuable. In addition, I think the recent Supreme Court decision to allow governments to take property from private owners will only make the problem worse.
Myrtle Beach has and continues to lose campground faciities that are being replaced by condo units that generate alot considerable more tax revenue. In my opinion, there is a big disconnect in what the RV manufacturers are delivering and the places available to use the units. I sent a letter to CC some years ago discussing this issue and was told that Bob Lee was working on the problem, but one luxury facility in the CA desert did nothing to help the problem.

Try http://www.willowlakes.com/. (http://www.willowlakes.com/.) It's about 45 miles south of Daytona close to I-95. They just started phase III. The website says RV and golf resort, but 9 hole golf course is not part of the RV resort and not included in price. We live there now in our MH and are watching them build our cabin which will have the RV port connected to it. I think phase III lots are going for $85K. Good luck!
