Hi Folks,
Would appreciate recomendations for RV parks and camping in the Grand Staircase Esclante area - would like to stay in the subject town.
Planning on taking the Hole-In-The-Rock road to Lake Powell, Burr Trail and lunch at Bullfrog.

We have dry camped for a few days in the area just south of the Hole in the Rock road....right where the Hole in the rock road takes off of the main highway. This is BLM land and this area is used by hunters in the fall. There was only one other rig last year when we were there. Do not miss the side trip to Devil's Garden off Hole in the Rock Road. We did not go all the way to Lake Powell. If you are going East, there is a nice dry camping area on the road out of Boulder toward the center of Captal Reef NP. Then stay at the campground in Capital Reef NP and partake of the apricots that are still producing from the Morman settlement days. Our favorite area is Southern Utah.

Fred: I live in Northern Utah and have traveled the Southern part of the state for years. A nice place to visit and park is at Ruby's Inn near Bryce Canyon if you are near there. Also, Capitol Reef Nt. Park has a nifty little RV park in a shaded area. We always stay there on the way to Bullfrog Basin Marina.
If you take Highway 12 over to Bryce Canyon and Ruby's Inn, I recommend taking it up and over the top to Torrey, then just a few miles over to Capitol Reef. It's a beautiful drive. I haven't taken it for a few years, but it is all paved two-lane and some of the best scenery in So. Utah. If you go, you may want to talk to some local folks to be sure there isn't any construction underway.
There is an interesting Native American Museum in Boulder to visit on the way.
