Just wondered if we have many Fulltimers in our group. Jean and I are considering making the move to fulltime. As we still need to work and can do so via the internet, we thought why not?

Our coach is a 40ft quad slide 05' Intrigue, so we have plenty of room.

Will be living with our 2 golden retrievers.

Any hints or unexpected surprises we should consider?

Love to hear your experiences.

Thanks,

Russ and Jean

We've been fulltiming since May 1, 2004. We've been in the CC since Dec 2004. Storage will be your biggest issue. Deciding what to take and what to leave behind. We have a 10' x 20' storage unit where we keep those things we will want when we quit the road, those things that have sentimental value that we couldn't give to the kids and those things we swap in and out of the coach depending on our next destination. I have a hard time imagining fulltiming with 2 golden retrievers but to each his own. Sometimes our 11 lb Mini Dachsund seems to take up a lot of space. That is the only real issue we have encountered. I definitely don't miss the house and get goosebumps when I think of being stuck in one spot. We started fulltiming with a 36' fifth wheel and traded to the coach. Its more comfortable in some ways but smaller in others. You also have to really get along with your spouse because you spend a lot of time together. You can't go hide in separate rooms.

We're entering our 5th year of fulltiming in our 2001 CC Intrigue and love it! We had never been in an RV before, but knew this would be the best way to see the country the way we wanted to. Sold everthing but what could fit into a 10x10 climate-controlled storage and have never looked back. In fact, although we've been to a number of places that we enjoyed, when we really consider "do we want to settle here?" the answer is always "no, let's move on..."

We saw too many of our friends not make it to retirement. We're lucky to be able to work and play, too...it allows us to be part of a community for a few months, then travel on. One more week here in Bend until we head to the Canadian Rockies for 2 months! Love it!

As someone said to us "Come on in, the water's fine!"
