I just noticed in the latest issue of Highways that there is an NHTSA recall (05V209000) regarding the Hydro-Hot exhaust on 282 (according to www.recall.gov) CC coaches. I emailed CC and Vehicle Systems today regarding this recall. Has anyone have any other info on this recall? Is this old news that I just missed? Has anyone heard about this from CC or Vehicle Systems?

We had the recall or whatever done at LD in June. I did not know about it, they just did it when it was in for something else. Didn't take long, so I assume it was something simple.

I received an email from CC Tech Support today that said they looked up my coach and it wasn't part of the recall. So I guess all '05 Intrigues aren't affected.

I believe this has to do with the internal combustion chamber on the Webasto that heats the fluid in your systems. I believe they found certain ones were made of inferior metal and they cracked. I have a 2000 Magna and mine was also cracked, although it was not covered under the recall. I advise that if you have any system with the Webasto diesel furnace heating it and have the service done that you check that combustion chamber very carefully regardless of the years under the recall. I called the company(VSI) and you would think they would consider this a goodwill gesture, considering it was also cracked, but then some companies are better at "goodwill" than others...
I also had problems with short cycling, caused by a defective thermostat and had to replace the "brain" last year ($595.00!)These failures might have been a result of a cascade effect from that chamber failure.

--We just returned from the FMCA show in Minot and heard from numerous owners that there was a recall on tbe combustion chamber of the Hydra Hot.
It just happens that a service rep from Vehicle Systwms was replacing a chamber on the coach next to me and I asked him if my unit (2005 Magna)was covered under the recall and he said that it was.
I asked him if he could replace my burner chamber and he said that it would not be a problem and changed the units out in a matter of 30 minutes.
He was very helpful and had been doing this 8 hrs a day since the start of the show.
Good Luck!

We found that our unit was under the recall. CC replaced it last week during our service visit. The Wednesday before our Monday visit we discoverd no lights on the HH switches in the coach. After some checking I discovered the 30amp breaker that provides power to the system was tripped. Further investigation showed that the Hydro-Hot controller board had a dead short between the +12v and ground. I got Vehicle Systems to overnight a new board, replaced it, and so far all is well (fingers are crossed).
