One of my chrome "wings" was re attached by the prev owner with an adhesive that looks like peanut butter and stuck about as well. Need to remove b4 I lose it , clean it up and re attach. Thought about using epoxy but thought it might sun bake or something - then considered clear silicon adhesive/sealer??? Anybody tried anything that won't make a mess and works?
Thanks

Glen,
There are some high temp flex adhesives available. Try 3M 5200. It will last for a long time and can stand even the most extreme marine conditions. Just need to make sure the surfaces are clean and ruff. "Ruff" is probably not that important.. but clean is very!

Glen; I used 3M two-sided clear adhesive tape. I works great. The glues seem to pop loose because of the expansion/contraction

Yes, stainless steel screws with cap nuts.

I have used silicone sealer/caulk, clamped until set up and it seems to work OK. I had just fabicated a replacement for the lower shield that was broken and had to re-attach the metal to the new one.

Thanks to all for your suggestions - I'm sure I can settle on a good fix from any of them. Now, if I could get one of you guys to come reinstall my "rats nest" some refer to as an entertainment component compartment. Made a few component changes & cleaning up unnecessary wiring. Tight quarters and electricity has always been "FM" (frigging magic) to me. Guess if the connection doesn't spark its OK (really not quite that dumb).
Thanks again, the people on this site have been a big help to me on a number of topics in the past.
