The last several times we have levelled our coach, their has been an occasional loud popping noise. We also hear it when the air suspension system is inflating for travel mode. It seems to be coming from the air springs. Has anyone else experienced this? The coach does level properly and inflate for travel, but the noise is disconcerting. Thanks for any info related to this problems, if that's what it is. Perhaps it's normal under some circumstances? Accordjng to the maintenance manual our coach has a drive axle air suspension system by Neway Anchorlok International, either Model AD-160 or AD-200 (same manual for both).

Tony, my coach makes the " popping " sound when relevelling if the rear end has been lowered. It has since day one and doesn't cause any problems.

Tony,
"Roger" the disconcerting. That is one loud and ugly noise. I first got that popping noise a few months ago while at the factory for service.
I was surprised to find out that the service department considers that noise to be normal.
What, I was told is that once in a while the air bags get reversed during deflation and correct themselves during inflation.
I do believe the noise is normal.

I always figured it was a suspension member sticking a little, like an anti sway bar (if I have those). I can feel the coach jerk just a tiny amount when I hear the noise, I assumed something has to be greased, but have not climbed under there yet.
I don't quite get the air bag theory, but could be I guess.

Tony: I have had that popping sound for over 6 years now. I believe it to be the bushing, probably nylon or brass, that are part of the rear suspension. I have found no way to lubricate them and CC has told me it's normal. It's another one of those little things that you get used to, unlike a toilet backing up, it's annoying but not fatal.

Tony,
The creaking and groaning is being caused by the parking brakes being applied and then the air bags trying to move with the wheels locked in place. They all do it because we can't level without the parking brake being locked. To prove my point, leave the brakes off and then raise, lower or do anything you want with the suspension! You won't hear any more creaking and groaning as long as the coach can just move a tiny bit. I don't know about the Inspires, but the air leveling CC's kind of get in a bind with the wheels locked, even more so with the tag. Sometimes I get lucky and don't even need the auto-level and the creaking and groaning are not an issue.

It is definitely the brakes slipping as the suspension levels and the wheels want to move. I've been outside the coach when it was leveling (at the factory) and you can see the tag wheel slip a little and make a horrible popping sound. If you have a tag it is really bad.
Sometimes one side slips more than the other and actually throws the coach out of level. I have leveled with the tag raised and I don't get any noise. Unfortunately you can't level with the parking brake off so you can't get rid of the noise. Since the normal ride height for our coach is always slightly nose down, we get a the creaking even if we park on a level site. The only time it doesn't creak is the rare time when the rear needs to raise to level the coach. I've debated dumping all the air and trying to level from there but I suspect it will go into travel mode before attempting to level.
