Title: More Coach lifting ...
Post by: John on August 24, 2005, 10:04:26 am
Yahoo Message Number: 18025 (http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/conversations/messages/18025)I just about have myself talked into a pair or Mohawk TL-36 wheel lifters. They will pick up 18,000 lbs each and will raise either the front or rear (not both) about 28". I figure about 16" is all I need. We can use them here at work too (heh, heh).
Two things I am wondering.
Can you pick up the rear end with just one tire? About 15,000 lbs per side I figure (rear), but this would be lifted by one tire on each side. The lifting forks are only about 12" long and won't reach the inner duals. I can build a stand to set the wheels on once raised, but the stress of lifting will still be there.
Also, the tag would dangle if not raised. I says in the CC book to lift the entire coach by the rails, and let the wheels hang free. This is to check the condition of the air bags every so often. I wonder why they would say this if the tag shocks would come apart. No where have I read about hurting the tag shocks, but maybe I missed it. I am calling both Lazy Days and CC and ask, but I wonder if anyone here has been thru this or knows.
Seeing as I have about 1,200,000 bolts to check (ever read that part in the manual?? ), I figure I need some more tooling.
Thanks ...
