Ice maker
The ice maker in our Amana side by side refrigerator is not filling with water. There is plenty of water flow for the water outlet through the door, which tells me the water pressure is OK. The ice maker has been working fine until today. Any thoughts?

Bob First check and see if the solenoid valve for the icemaker is getting power. If it is then more than likely the valve is bad. You can get replacement at any appliance repair parts outlet. To check the power, put the arm up for a long enough period for the tray to get cold. Flip the arm down and when the cycle nears completion the solenoid will get power for a few seconds so have your meter attached before and simply watch.

Bob I had my unit apart, with the help of a former CC tech. located in So. CA. If you turn of the valve rear of refrigerator. The the whole ice maker assemble comes out and there are diagnostics you then can run to trouble shoot the system using the manual. We never did really fix the system, mime will not make ice unless we have city pressure water, even though tech. said it should make ice on the pump. Good luck.

Open the access panel on the outside and you will see it. It has two water lines and two wires connected to it.
