We've been parked in the campground for 4 hours and I just discovered a small puddle of coolant under the coach. Its coming from the bottom of the radiator stack on the driver's rear corner. Seems to be about 1 drop every 10-15 seconds. I'm 175 miles from Boise and 185 miles from Salt Lake City at the intersection of I-84 and I-86. The expansion tank is full so I haven't lost lots of coolant. I'll call tech support first thing tomorrow morning but any suggestions for service in this area?

CC Tech gave us the name of a local CAT dealer - Lake City International in Heyburn, ID. We're scheduled for tomorrow morning.
Wish us luck.

Bob and Joe,
We had a leak in our 05 Intrigue. It turned out to be a hose clamp that was a bit loose. Tightened the clamp, 2,000 miles later, no leaks so far.

The local truck dealer thought it was the radiator leaking but I don't think they looked really close. I think they were overwelmed by the coach and didn't really want to work on it. I made an appointment with Beaudry in Tucson for next week. Today we drove 250 miles and no leak. The coolant level in the expansion tank is just below the sight glass when cold and above the sight glass when hot. Just about where it has been running since we bought the coach. I'm wondering if my leak isn't just overflow? I'm going to cancel the Beaudry appointment until the leak returns. I know what happens when you take a coach or car in for a problem that can't be recreated.

Bob, I had the same thing happen, my radiator leaked in Jan in Palm Springs. I made an appt and went to Colton Truck and they tested and said they could not find a leak. Went to Beaudry for engine update mid Feb. Found the radiator had leak on back corn

I am typing on my cell and it do not send the whole message that I type. There are LOTS of leaky radiators, keep your appt! Dale

Did they repair the radiator or did you have to get a new one? How did they find the leak? Am I going to get stuck in Tucson for a long time waiting for a fix? Did yours leak all the time or just when it was run?

Well, we just found out this morning that a new radiator is inbound for our coach. We haven't leaked since Utah but the CC rep at Beaudry wants to replace the radiator so I guess I'll let them. Supposed to be a two day job but we have relatives in the area who want us to stay with them so no big deal.

Hey Bob, I feel your pain....we too have a radiator inbound and it will be installed in our coach. We have a leak in the seam (same as last time) so it is being replaced by CC. Hopefully then we will be good to go enjoy the up coming Holidays. We wish all of the forum members Happy Holidays!

Dale,
Are you having the new transmission cooler put on at the same time? It is available from CC and this would be a great time to do it. We are having it done this week at Lazy Days and it is also a 12 hour job.

Hi Bill,
We were in JC in Oct and had the trani update done. At that time our radiator was not leaking, We left JC drove less than a thousand miles and discovered the radiator was leaking. So we have had the radiator on order and have been sitting in Bakersfield waiting for it. Our power steering pump is also leaking, so we decided not to go over the grapevine and get in LA traffic knowing we had problems. Having to be towed would not be my favorite thing to do, so I am sitting waiting it out. We are going to Quinn Engines (Cat Dealer) for the work. Good luck on your update, Dale 05 Affinity #6370

Ummmm .... new transmission cooler ... what is this about ???
Is this the cooling upgrade where they change the fan, and all that other stuff back there, or is this something else ?? We had that done at LD earlier this year.
We have not heard from CC lately, but we are not FL now, and that is where CC sends our bulletin info.
Thanks ...

Dale, how much difference has the new transmission cooler made. CC says that my transmission is running fine (212-214 down the road) and if I shift into neutral at long lights I rarely see 220. Is it worth harassing Doug Beaudry at CC Warranty to get this done? I must admit, I haven't had any nerve racking situation with tranny temp since they did the C13 upgrade. As a matter of fact when I climb long hills the tranny temp drops 2- 4 degrees.

To John, this is a different update from the engine update. To answer Bobs question: my engine is running about 190 and the trani is staying around 175. Way cooler than before the update. Dale 05 Affinity 6370

Thanks for the heads up Dale ...
My tranny temps are about the same as Bobs, unless stuck in traffic, then I do the neutral trick also.
I guess I'll call my guy at Lazy Days and see what is up.

John,
The transmission cooler is a new update and it is related to heat in the transmission.
Just had the work completed at Lazy Days today and took the coach home. Transmission ran at 165 degrees along interstate 4 for about 45 minutes, it also appears that the engine will run a little cooler also. Our transmission was running a temperature of 215 degrees on the open road and 250 degrees in a traffic backup. We had the over heating update done 6 months ago but that did not help the transmission temp.

Is the new cooler you guys are speaking of an oil/air cooler mounted on the outside of the radiator or an additional oil/water cooler like the one installed originally from the factory?

Got it ...
Must be a notice on our mail box down there, been up here in the cold for four weeks. My wife says one more major recall, and we are going MH shopping again. I guess we will see. Our temps were around 200- 220 on our last trip (to the keys), that didn't seem too bad.
BTW, our little FL house is in Mt Olvie Shores North, in Polk City.
Are you the gentleman from Lake Ashton ?? Seems I saw that someone here was.
At least LD is only 30 miles away ... didn't realize how handy that would be.
Thanks ...

Kevin,
The new transmission cooler we got was an oil to oil mounted on the out side of the radiator to the left of the AC radiator. It takes up the entire space from the AC unit to the wheel well and uses large blue hoses.

John,
There is a new transmission cooler being refitted on some 05s. Check with your warranty guy at CC to see if you need it, you may already have it on your 06.
