Mike: I have a similar unit, Honda Pilot. It has the factory trailer wiring harness in the storage compartment in the rear. Hopefully your MDX has the similar wiring.
I spliced into the factory wiring harness and ran the wires along under the car and up to the firewall where I installed the diodes and labeled them. It makes it simple to check the wiring at any time. Also I didn't have to remove or splice into any factory wiring.
Works great!

Larry,
No trailering harness for our MDX. That sounds like a nice clean install though. I was able to fit my diodes between the tail light housings and the body. Should work fine and last a long time. Do you run a braking system? I had an M&G Engineering system on my Suburban, but I am not sure if that would work best on this MDX.
That master cylinder area looks really crowded.
Thanks and take care.

Mike; I use the M&G braking system on my MDX. It is a very snug fit, but it does fit. Two tips that may help you. I cut a flat piece of stainless to replace the bottom bracket on the ABS module.
That moves it much lower and gives extra space for the M&G. I also raised the air filter intake about 1 inch and moved it forward slightly. It can be done and it works great. I would not have bought the MDX if I couldn't have the M&G braking system.
