Does anyone know a way to finish new walnut wood work to match the walnut cabinets in Country Coach Intrigues. Any help would be appreciated.

Find a good paint store that does stain matching. If you take the bare wood and a sample from the coach they should be able to match it.

Hi: Ken

I have used MINWAX Wood finish for my present coach which has light oak in it, it worked great. I have used the same for walnut cabinets in a 84 Sprotscoach and dark oak in a 93 Dynasty. It is a wipe on wipe off finish the more coats the darker so I start with a color that is a bit lighter than what I want for the end result. I leaves an good gloss but takes 8 hr or so to dry. First I try it on a scrap piece of wood to compair the color. Also use it to touch up the cabinet along the floor.
Good Luck

Ken,

The tech reps at CC can most likely tell you the exact stain that was used on your coach. For my 98 Intrigue, it was a commercially blended Sherwin-Williams stain made in Oregon especially for CC. I was able to order it directly from the same Sherwin-Williams plant, but had to buy a gallon as a minimum order.

The clear finish over top of the stain is much easier and you can probably use most any product available at any home store, just match the gloss, e.g. matte, semi or gloss.

The salesman told me that CC maintains an inventory of all wood used in each coach. Might see if they can supply the wood you need. If the work is already done, they should be able to tell you what finish and method they used.

he matched our walnut exactly. He purchases from the same supplier as CC. He is very nice and helpful, not to expensive and high quality.
