A few questions and comments about its installation in a 2002 Allure:
a. When trying to figure how to enable the GenSet autostart, I call the Invertrix manufacturer. Evidently I was lucking reaching someone who knew a little about the product, as I was told by them that Invertrix went out of business. (Answer: Press and Hold the on/off buttom for 10 seconds -- Ignore the Release for Off message that appears within 3 seconds. Sure be nice to have more bottons/switches on it, instead of one universal button.)
b. What unit is being used in coaches now? Wonder how easy the replacement will be when this unit dies.
c. Do I need the Invertix on to charge the batteries while connected to shore power? Does even the Echo Charger require the Invertrix to be on?
d. Has anyone here used a telephone to reprogram the Invertrix?
e. Discovered that the 30A circuit breaker for the Invertrix in the AC panel needs to be on (even though the Invertrix can be off of course) to have AC power to the duplex outlets in the coach.
(Refrig, washer, AC and I believe Microwave have their own breakers in the subpanel). I was flipping breakers to winterize it.
f. I store the coach in cold weather connected to shore power. The first time I left the Invertrix on to make sure the batteries stayed charged. But that racks up Invertrix hours against the 10,000 warranty. The last time I turned off the Invertrix, left the Invertrix AC breaker on, plug in an electric heater (power is free), and turned off both 12V master disconnects. Figured I did not need to trickle charge the batteries for several weeks if the masters were off.
g. When do you leave the Invertrix on, or should I ask when do you
turn it off?
Comments on any of the above?

Hi Herb,
I will give it a shot.
Trace is being used now, the retrofit is approx 6 hours of labor.
YES
Does even the Echo Charger require the Invertrix to
I believe so but not sure.
No
YES
Correct
I would leave it on when your plugged in or need A/C power. If your driving and the inverter is off it still charges the coach batterys. When you are plugged in or have your gen on you need the Invertrix on to charge the batteries.

Hi Herb,
I also have the Invertrix in my 2001 Intrigue #11238. I have reprogramed the unit using a basic telephone. The handset acts as the keypad. It is actually very straightforward and outlined in the Invertrix manual very clearly. If you have any problems, E-mail me directly and I'll do what I can to help you out.

Herb,
I've used a telephone to program the Invertrix. The hassle is taking all the screws out of the panel to access the phone jack on the back of the remote panel above the entry door. Once you're connected it's easy. The instructions are in the manual that came with the unit.
Hope this helps.
