I have read on this site, and others, that the M&G system is one of the best. I have an appointment to have one installed on a Honda Pilot however, I asked for a quote on the price and it seems they want as much to install the system as the system componets cost. I don't mind paying a high shop rate but $156.oo per hr. [$800.00]is just stupid and out of sight.
I know that there must be other systems out there that will rival the M&G system and not be so invasive to the auto. What are they?
I have a BrakeBuddy now and it is OK for what it is but, I would like to fuss less and brake better. Any Ideas?
Thanks to All and to All a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year.

Hi Larry, Where is the world are you that the shop rates are that high?? CC shop rates are under $100 and even in California shop rates are around $90 to $100 and hour.
As far as the M&G is concerned, I had mine installed on my 05 Odyssey by Hitch Pro and Tow in Eugene, Oregon. The cost was $900 for the system on the car and the coach and the break-away way $350.00. It is by far the best system I have used, easy, and I feel very dependable. I saw too many peoples brakes burn up (literally) and the car actually catch on fire with the Brake Buddy type system. I had the Blue Ox one like the Brake Buddy and I sent it back for a refund after I saw the potential fire hazard.
So if you can get it installed for $800, that is $100 dollars less than I paid for mine! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Dale Hollick 05 Affinity 6370

Larry, if I understand you properly, you are saying the $ 800 is in ADDITION to the cost of the system, which is rediculous. If I remember correctly, I paid M & G $ 850 INSTALLED. I gather you are dealing with somone other than M & G. You might want to check with M & G in Athens, Tx and see wha their current price is and when they intend to have someone at a rally to install their systems, or go by the factory. Athens isn't too far off the beaten path.
This is the only brake system I've had on my rig, but I haven't come across anything as good.

$156/hr, that is leaglized robbery! I had our M&G installed by STC Performance in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Their phone is 562.944.3694
They also have a place in Yuma, AZ this time of year and their phone there is 928.329.7681
I looked at the brake systems available and determined that the M&G was the best engineered out there. It is also has the least moving parts. I have been towing with one for over 70,000 miles with no problems whatsoever.

Larry,
Where are you staying. Here in Yuma AZ the install labor is abouy $450.00. I'm a M&G dealer and own a CC also. I just do this part time as I sell Presure Pro, Brake Buddy, Blue Ox, Roadmaster and other RV safety items. Brake Buddy is about as good as any for a set in type unit. M&G will cost you about $1100.00 installed. Give me a call if you are around Yuma this winter and I could be of any help with advice. 541-915-4951
